Jerold Dwight Ellis III, better known by his stage name Yukmouth, is a renowned American rapper born on October 18, 1974, in East Oakland, Oakland, California. With a career spanning nearly three decades, Yukmouth has made a significant impact on the hip-hop scene with his distinct West Coast style and gangsta rap flair.

Yukmouth first gained fame as a member of the rap duo Luniz, alongside Numskull. The duo is best known for their hit weed anthem, “I Got 5 on It.” Yukmouth later signed a solo record deal with J-Prince’s Rap-a-Lot Records, releasing four albums, including the gold-certified double album, Thugged Out: The Albulation. He is also a member of Thug Lordz with C-Bo.

In addition to his successful music career, Yukmouth is a savvy entrepreneur. He founded Smoke-A-Lot Records and Godzilla Entertainment, both of which have housed numerous established artists. Although Godzilla Entertainment was eventually closed due to legal pressure from Toho Co. Ltd., Yukmouth continues to release music under the Smoke-A-Lot Records imprint.

Yukmouth’s discography is extensive, including numerous solo albums, collaborations, and appearances in various film and documentary projects. Despite the challenges he has faced throughout his career, Yukmouth remains a force to be reckoned with in the world of hip-hop.
