Atlanta, Georgia, has been a driving force in the evolution of hip-hop/rap music, particularly since the 1990s. Trap music, characterized by its dark, gritty lyrics and heavy use of 808 drums, has since become one of the most popular and influential styles in contemporary hip-hop.
In recent years, Atlanta has remained at the forefront of hip-hop innovation, with a new generation of artists like Future, Migos, 21 Savage, and Childish Gambino continuing to push the boundaries of the genre.
