Born Jason Cornell Green on October 24, 1976, Planet Asia is a renowned rapper hailing from Fresno, California. He first gained fame as one half of the now-reunited hip-hop duo, Cali Agents, and is currently a member of the groups Gold Chain Military and Durag Dynasty. With a vast discography of mixtapes, Planet Asia has made a significant impact on the hip-hop scene since the mid-1990s.

Originally from Fresno, Planet Asia relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1998 and started working with local producer Fanatik. Between 1997 and 2001, he released several popular 12″ singles, including “Definition of Ill” and “Place of Birth.” His full acclaim came in 2001 when The Source awarded him the First Round Draft Pick and Independent Album of the Year awards for How the West Was One, a collaboration with rapper Rasco under the group name Cali Agents. This success led to a deal with Interscope Records.

Although Interscope Records did not promote Planet Asia extensively, he received a Grammy Award nomination in 2002 for the song “W” by Mystic. In 2003, he signed with Avatar Records, which released his debut album, The Grand Opening, in 2004. The album received positive feedback and another Independent Album of the Year award from The Source. After leaving Avatar, Planet Asia started his own record label, Gold Chain Music, and continued to release albums, EPs, and collaborations.

In his personal life, Planet Asia is a member of the Five Percent Nation. With a career spanning over two decades, Planet Asia has solidified his place in hip-hop history through his extensive discography and involvement in various influential groups.
