Iamsu! (born Sudan Ameer Williams, November 16, 1989) is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer hailing from Richmond, California. He began his music career in the late 2000s and gained prominence as part of the production team The Invasion and the lead member of the hip hop group The HBK Gang. Over the years, Iamsu! has released numerous mixtapes, including Suzy 6 Speed, Million Dollar Afro, and the Kilt series. His debut album, Sincerely Yours, was released in 2014.

Growing up in Richmond, Iamsu! was influenced by artists such as Kanye West, R. Kelly, Aaliyah, and reggae music. He began making music at the age of 14 and honed his skills in beat-making at a local Bay Area Youth Program, Youth Radio. His first mixtape, Su! The Right Thing, was released in 2010. In 2011, he produced and featured on LoveRance’s hit single “Up!” which peaked at number 46 on the US Billboard Hot 100. He also made appearances on E-40’s “Function” and Sage the Gemini’s “Gas Pedal.”

Iamsu!’s mixtapes, Kilt, Young California, and Su! The Right Thing, were released on iTunes in 2012. He followed up with the critically acclaimed mixtape $uzy 6 Speed, featuring guest appearances from Juvenile, Problem, and Wiz Khalifa. In 2013, Iamsu! and Problem collaborated on the mixtape Million Dollar Afro, which received praise from critics and was named one of the best rap releases of the year. He embarked on his first headlining tour in May 2013 to promote his mixtape, Kilt II.

In the following years, Iamsu! released his debut album Sincerely Yours and continued to work on various projects. He featured on Sage the Gemini’s 2013 hit single “Gas Pedal” and contributed to the HBK Gang compilation mixtape Gang Forever. His second studio album, KILT 3, was released in 2016.
