Conejo, born as Jose Martin, emerged from the tough streets of Los Angeles, where his musical journey began with the arrival of hip-hop in the 1980s. Inspired by the L.A. Dream Team, Conejo started break dancing, popping, and battling other rappers at backyard parties and underground shows, eventually developing his unique style. At 14, he delved into the production side of hip-hop, learning from DJ Motiv8 who also mentored the Black Eyed Peas. Conejo released his debut album through BMG Records.

His first album, “City of Angels,” paved the way for his second album, “Fallen Angel,” which solidified his presence in the Chicano rap industry. Conejo has since appeared on numerous albums as a featured artist and had his hit songs featured in shows like “The Shield.” As one of the most influential artists in Chicano rap, Conejo’s raw storytelling captures the harsh realities of gang life, touching on brutality, unity, family, and emotional hardships. His latest album, “The Puppet Master Curse,” showcases his continuous evolution and growth as an artist.
