Jayo Felony, born James Savage on December 18, 1969, in Portsmouth, Virginia, is a prominent American rapper hailing from southeast San Diego, California. With a career spanning over two decades, Jayo Felony has made a significant impact on the hip-hop scene since his debut album, Take a Ride, in 1994.

Signed by Jam Master Jay from RUN DMC to his label, Jam Master Jay Records, Jayo Felony released his second album, Whatcha Gonna Do? in 1998 under Def Jam. The album featured collaborations with notable rappers such as Method Man, DMX, Mack 10, WC, Redman, Kokane, Ice Cube, E-40, and 8 Ball & MJG. In 1999, he released Underground, which included a guest appearance by San Diego rapper The Toven on the track “Du Lo Gang.”

Although there were plans to release a fourth album, Hotter Than Fish Grease, in 2000, the project never materialized. Jayo Felony’s fourth studio album, Crip Hop, was eventually released in 2001, featuring numerous guest appearances. In 2019, he released his self-titled fifth studio album, James Savage, under the Open Bar Entertainment label. The same year, Jayo Felony made his acting debut in the WorldStarHipHop mini-series Broken Ground.

Throughout his career, Jayo Felony has also released mixtape albums such as Hoodinvasion (2020) and In the Trenches (2020), as well as mixtapes like Too the Nec Time Is Bread (2007). In addition, he has collaborated on albums like Criminal Activity with Criminalz (2001) and Criminal Intent with Spice 1 (2007).
